BEHAVIOUR & EXECUTION BACKTESTING
You backtest your strategy. What about the trader executing it?
Strategy backtesting asks whether a trading strategy would have worked historically. Mindoro lets you ask a different question: what might have been different in your own trading if you had followed particular behavioural, risk or execution rules?
Test those rules against your historical trading evidence—without changing what actually happened.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF BACKTESTING
Strategy backtesting tests the strategy. Mindoro tests the trading rules around it.
STRATEGY BACKTESTING
Tests entry, exit and technical strategy rules against historical market data.
Question: Would this strategy have worked?
BEHAVIOUR & EXECUTION BACKTESTING
Tests behavioural, risk and execution rules against your own historical trading evidence.
Question: What might have been different if I had traded under these rules?
Mindoro doesn't rewrite your trading history. It uses that history as evidence for examining alternative rules.
HOW IT WORKS
Test your trading rules against what actually happened
Mindoro starts with your historical trading evidence and the trading profile you want to test. It then examines how different rules would have affected your historical trading activity.
1 · START WITH YOUR PROFILE. Select the trading profile and rules you want to examine.
2 · TEST A RULE. Use your existing settings or explore alternatives such as a different daily loss limit or revenge cooldown.
3 · IDENTIFY AFFECTED TRADES. Mindoro identifies the historical trades that would have been affected under the tested rules.
4 · EXAMINE THE EVIDENCE. See what the rule would have changed—and what the historical evidence does and doesn't support.
5 · DECIDE WHAT FITS. Use the findings to help decide whether a rule or calibration belongs in your trading profile.
Your original trades remain unchanged. The backtest creates a separate evidence-based view of what might have been different.
EXPLORE YOUR RULES
Change the rule. See what would have changed.
Mindoro lets you explore alternative trading rules against the same historical evidence, so you can see how different settings would have affected your trading activity.
For example, adjust your Daily Loss Limit or Revenge Cooldown and Mindoro identifies the historical trades that would have been affected under that setting.
Rather than simply telling you that a rule is “better”, Mindoro shows you the underlying evidence so you can examine the trade-offs for yourself.
The purpose isn't to find the strictest rule. It's to find rules that make sense for how you intend to trade.
WHAT YOU CAN TEST
Explore the rules that shape how you trade.
Behaviour & Execution Backtesting can examine different types of trading rules and execution decisions against your historical evidence—helping you understand where changes might have affected what happened.
RISK & TRADING RULES
Explore rules that define the boundaries of your trading, including daily loss limits, trade-count limits, position sizing and risk-per-trade settings.
BEHAVIOURAL RULES
Examine rules designed to interrupt recurring behaviours—for example, applying a revenge cooldown after a loss or restricting trading after predefined limits have been reached.
EXECUTION & PLAN ADHERENCE
Examine aspects of how trades were executed against the intended plan, including stop and target changes, premature exits and other measurable deviations where sufficient evidence is available.
Different rules require different evidence. Mindoro only presents a backtest finding where the available trading data supports it.
BUILT FOR EVIDENCE, NOT CERTAINTY
Backtesting should inform judgement—not replace it.
HISTORICAL RECORD PRESERVED
Mindoro keeps what actually happened separate from the alternative rules being tested.
EVIDENCE & LIMITATIONS
Findings depend on the trading evidence available. Where the data cannot support a reliable conclusion, Mindoro makes that limitation visible.
TRADER JUDGEMENT
A backtest doesn't tell you that a rule is universally “better”. It gives you evidence to help decide whether that rule makes sense for your trading.
Mindoro uses backtesting to explore better questions—not manufacture certainty about better outcomes.
BEHAVIOUR & EXECUTION BACKTESTING
Test the rules behind how you trade.
Use your own trading history to explore how different behavioural, risk and execution rules might have changed your trading—and use the evidence to decide what belongs in your trading profile
Test the rules. Examine the evidence. Make your own judgement.
